World’s Lasgest Cruise Ship “Oasis of The Seas” Reaches Port Everglades, America.

Larger than life on the ocean horizon, the world’s biggest cruise ship swaggered into Port Everglades as a crowd of onlookers at a Broward beach park cheered.

As the $1.5 billion, 16-deck Oasis of the Seas entered the inlet, onlookers gasped in awe.

Owned by Royal Caribbean International, the 1,184-foot, 226,000-ton ship will spend three weeks at the port before it makes its first regular voyage Dec. 5.

The vessel is almost 40 percent bigger than the cruise industry’s next-largest ship and five times bigger than the Titanic. It features 2,700 cabins and can hold 6,300 passengers and 2,100 crew members.

The firm was upbeat about the prospects for “Oasis” despite the economic crisis. “We are confident,” said Royal Caribbean chief executive Richard Fain, “despite the economic situation, people will keep traveling.”

They hope to secure 800-5,800 dollars per passenger with the lure of its many onboard details, including an amphitheater-style cinema, 12,170 plants and 56 trees.
