Shiv’s daughter Roshni Nadar- New CEO of HCL Corporation
Roshni Nadar, daughter of founder of HCL Corporation, Shiv Nadar, has been appointed as the new CEO of HCL Coproration.
Ms Roshni Nadar, has a MBA in Social Enterprise Management and Strategy from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. She is also involved in brand building across the HCL Group.
Ms Roshni Nadar returned from the US in October last, and has since been involved with the HCL Corporation before taking over Executive Director and CEO.
Roshni Nadar loves to travel, enjoys yoga and is trained in classical music.
Shiv Nadar, who was in Chennai along with his daughter to announce developments in their educational initiatives, told The Economic Times that HCL Technologies and HCL Infosystems are run by highly corporatised boards.
“At the moment, she is responsible for the holding company, which is HCL Corporation, none of the operational companies. She runs the treasury, all the new investment decisions will be taken by her.” He added that he will focus on “developing a vision for the group”.
Shiv Nadar founded HCL in the mid-1970s and transformed the IT hardware company into an IT enterprise over the next three decades by constantly reinventing his company’s focus. In 2008, Shiv Nadar was awarded Padma Bhushan for his efforts in IT industry.
HCL Corporation holds nearly 50 per cent in HCL Technologies, which recorded revenues of about Rs 7,640 crore for the year ended June 2008; and holds about 44 per cent in HCL Infosystems whose revenues for the same period touched Rs 12,605 crore.
Total promoter holdings, including through HCL Corporation, in these two companies amount to 68 per cent and about 54.5 per cent respectively.
