About 1,700 submissions were received from developers and publishers in 85 countries signaling a strong answer to Nokia’s challenge to think big and create mobile applications and services that can help to build a better mobile user experience.

More than 421,000 visited to the contest website from around the world engaged with the world’s largest mobile developer community Nokia.

Category winners were recognized in the Calling All Innovators Awards Reception held in Stuttgart on the night of the Nokia World.

Top three submissions in each of the category will receive cash awards and prizes including premium placement displaying the winning applications in Nokia’s Ovi and also win a chance to demo their application at Nokia World.

Purnima Kochikar, vice president, Forum Nokia , “The competition was fierce this year and the winners exemplify the future of apps and the future of Ovi Store.”

Winners in this category apply new ideas to take advantage of the power-Ovi service locations using Nokia Maps on the device. 14 developers have been given exclusive access to Ovi Beta SDK to convert their ideas into a complete application for use on Nokia devices.
