- Delhi Stunned Due To Hoax Bomb Calls.
An unidentified call was received by Delhi Police on Tuesday morning stating that bombs have been planted at five important buildings, including a known government hospital and a commercial building .
The call was received at around 10:30am.
The unidentified caller claimed that bombs have been placed at five important buildings which included Safdarjung hospital, NDMC headquarters (Palika Kendra) and Vikas Minar in ITO, police sources said here.
Instantly after receiving the call, Quick Response Teams were hurried to the sites and vacated people from the buildings, they said.
“Police got a call in the morning and all precautions were taken. The building was evacuated,” NDMC spokesperson Anand Tiwari said.
Intensive searches were underway at the New Delhi Railway Station, Palika Kendra in Connaught Place and at Vikas Minar near ITO.
Sniffer dogs and bomb disposal teams were also rushed to the spots.
Terming it as “mischievous” call, additional commissioner of police (New Delhi) Shankar Dass said, “We think it is a mischievous call to create panic, as only yesterday, the office of Commonwealth Games adjacent to the NDMC building was inaugurated”.
