A mother walked into a police station yesterday and told cops: “I’ve killed my children.” After that she arrested after the bodies of her two young children were found in a car in East Sussex has been named by sources as Fiona Donnison.
Fiona Donnison, 43, then led officers to her Nissan car, where the bodies of her son Harry, 03, and daughter Elise, 02, were found wrapped in black plastic bin liners in two separate sports bags in the boot.
The reason of killing is being investigated and postmortem examinations are due to take place tomorrow.
Police believe they know who the children are, but the identities have yet to be officially released.
“People are obviously horrified. It is a house that nobody appears to know who the family are.
The rest of the close is very close-knit. People are just really shocked.”
Chief Superintendent Robin Smith said: “The death of one child is deeply saddening for all involved, particularly the family.
“The death of two is deeply, deeply tragic for everyone concerned.”
The T-reg Nissan Note car in which the bodies were found was taken on a low loader to a police compound, where forensic officers were scouring it.
