Writer Mridula Koshy will get Shakti Bhatt First Book Prize, 2009 for her If It is Sweet which is a collection of short stories.
Mridula belongs to Delhi.The The author will get Rs 1 lakh and a citation which will be presented by author/television Journalist Sagarika Ghose at the British Council in the capital on December 14.
In 2008 the award was given to Mohammed Hanif, a Pakistani writer for his book- A Case of Exploding Mangoes.
The Shakti Bhatt Foundation is a non-profit trust set up by the late writer/editor’s family to keep her memory alive.
The 2009 judges’ panel comprised Novelist Rana Dasgupta, Journalist Mukund Padmanabhan and Writer Arshia Sattar.
