The Simpsons’, has become the first cartoon character to appear in Playboy, in a feature to mark the hit cartoon’s 20th anniversary.
She appears animatedly nude on the front cover of the November issue, but her assets being saved only by the ears of Playboy Bunny chair.
The magazine promises a story inside on ‘The Devil in Marge Simpson,’ an interview and more pictures, including a centerfold pullout.”
The magazine is giving the star of “The Simpsons” the star treatment, complete with a data sheet, an interview and a 2-page centerfold.
The magazine’s editorial director, James Jellinek said, “She is a stunning example of the cartoon form,” at the magazine’s headquarters in Chicago, appearing both pleased and surprised at the words coming out of his mouth.
Playboy magazine has been facing tough times.
Putting Marge on the cover is a ploy, its designed to attract younger readers as its circulation slip from 3.15 million to 2.6 million since 2006.
Marge joins a list of stars who have posed for the magazine since its first edition in 1953, who include supermodel Cindy Crawford, Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson and screen siren Marilyn Monroe.
Marjorie “Marge” Simpson is a fictional main character in the animated television series The Simpsons and part of the eponymous family.
She is voiced by actress Julie Kavner and was created and designed by cartoonist Matt Groening.
