“I am Suffering From Incurable Cancer” Says Lisa Ray.

Actress Lisa Ray has been diagnosed with Multiple myeloma, a relatively rare and incurable cancer of the white blood cells.

Ray, who will soon be seen doing a lesbian act in I Can’t Think Straight, posted about her condition on her blog, The Yellow Diaries. The model-turned-actress wrote: “I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on June 23rd.

Started my first cycle of treatment July 2nd. Not long ago.

Ray, who first shot to fame in India with the racy Bombay Dyeing advertisement that saw her in a black swim suit, started her postings on September 07, 2009.

The actress further wrote that: “A few months ago my bone marrow started sending me messages.

Here is what she writes on her blog:

I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on June 23rd. Started my first cycle of treatment July 2nd. Not long ago.

For me, it was a relief to hear what was wrong.

The plasma cells in my bone marrow were rampaging, multiplying, squeezing out the red blood cells and it was time to begin doing something about it.

I was also tired of being tired all the time. And you just know when something is not kosher with your body.

So when I sat there with Bobcat- my life partner and reservoir of Yellow- and got the news I didn’t react and I didn’t cry.

I’m an actress, believe me, I can be dramatic. Not just then though.

First the facts.

Myeloma is incurable.

It’s a relatively rare cancer of the bone marrow that affects about 6000 Canadians. Every year, approximately 2100 more cases are diagnosed.

In the industry I’m in, you could say, its motive alone that gives character to your acting.

So today with Velcade and, Revlimid and other promising new treatments in the pipeline our survival rates are improving.

But only with an ever expanding toolbox of treatments and awareness can this Cancer be beat.

So I’m going to do everything I can to wrench the spotlight onto Myeloma and Cancer Awareness.

I believe it can be cured.

    Dear Lisa,
I rarely know film stars as i m not so keen in the field. I m a innovator working on water as fuel technology and ongoing project of INTEGRAL THERAPY. I just saw about your desease in a gujarati newspaper in surat. INTEGRAL THERAPY is project of Integrating the best of all therapies. The central idea is not to conderm any therapy on this earth and take the best of it. Every therapy has its regimn of operation and success over a list of disease. We make a record of all this.
Eg. Homeopathy has good success over some skin desease but cannot cure a broken misalligned bone. Ayurvedic medicines are good at some disease but cannot cure some deseases like allopathy. Asanas and pranayam work fantastic on respiratory system. Accupressure work immidialtely on blood pressure and menstrul diseases. Etc.

So if u wish i have some suggestion to help you in the fight your disease. They will be mostly in the food habits and list of special diet.

Please do reply on my above mail if i need these suggestions.
The quality of life is more important than the quantity of life. You know well.
    God bless

There is a herbal product called Monavie which has a very strong ingredient called Acai Berry which comes from the Amazon area of South America. It kills the free radicals in our bodies. If interested and want to try, please feel free to get in touch with me.

    Dear Lisa,
I was so very saddened to hear of your diagnosis of multiple myeloma, and I want you to know that you are in my prayers every day. I have seen many of your movies and I think you are incredible. I have followed your career for quite some time now for many reasons other than the fact I think you are an incredible actress; I live only 2 hours southwest of Toronto and it’s so awesome to see someone from ‘home’ become so successful; I am a lesbian, and your roles in that movie genre have been terrific and touched on so many important issues beyond just that of sexual preferences; and now your diagnosis of cancer also has touched me close to home as I lost my mother when I was a new mother myself and only 20 years old, to multiple myeloma. That was over 20 years ago now and at that time they told her that the best she could hope for was to live for a full year from the time of her diagnosis even with chemo/radiation and blood transfusions, which at that time were the only real treatments available for multiple myeloma.. The doctors didn’t know my mother well, as she lived for almost 4 years from the date of diagnosis. That was a long time ago and I know that today they have developed so much more knowledge of this cancer and also so many more successful treatment options. I know you are also a fighter Lisa, and you and your beautiful soul have every reason to fight and remain positive and not give up hope. I want to thank you for sharing so much of yourself and your gifts with the world and I know you will be sharing them for a long, long time to come. You are so loved around the world, you have many people praying and rooting for you Lisa! Keep the Faith! xo

    Hii Lisa,

Only thing I could say is “No body lives forever”, the difference is you have come to know that you are suffering from an incurable disease which may lead to your death someday. I would suggest you that be positive, be happy and live your life to the fullest. Do whatever you wanted to do now for eg. – travel places(if your health permits), eat your favourite foods and spend time with your loved ones. In short LIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE FULLEST……….U r so preety and decent that you must be having lot of fans who would like to send you the same message as I am writing to you now. “KNOCK OUT THE “T” FROM CANT = CAN. Take care . God bless you.

I was so sorry to hear about Lisa’s diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma for I have also suffered from it. Being in the prime of my life and with two young children, it has been an ordeal. I just would like to say that it is not “incurable”. I am, in fact, proof of that fact. I had a bone marrow transplant and it worked for me. Just let Lisa know that there is hope and that she needs to have faith to beat this illness. There is a good site where she can (and others) that tells about survior stories. Go to http://www.leukemiabmtprogram.com My story is listed there as well and many others.

    Dear lisa,

I have to say something more in support of my earlier comments. Infact I have suffered a lot from several diseases. Before coming in touch with the Great Chaitanya Guru Ji I had been taking several alloopathic medicines for over 3 years.. I had got developed hernia second time and I was likely to get operated. But under the able guidance of Guru Ji,s scientific, anti-aging and brain longevity technique based programme DMYS I have got cured all my diseases . Now eight years have passed after I visited any doctor. Chaitanya Guru Ji,s DMYS programme works simaltaneously on 72 major diseases. This is the only 100 % scientific programme and can get you rid of your cancer not only this disease but you can stay young and live longer. This is my practical experience.

Please send my your email ID.
    lOOKING FORWARD.

I have a friend who is a healer/therapist that healed herself (complete remission) of well advanced stage 4 cancer of a most aggressive sort. This is of course almost unheard of. If you are interested in knowing more, email me back & I’ll give you my phone number & I’d be happy to tell you more. There is no benefit accruing to me in passing this along. It just seems the right thing to do.
