27-year-old Famous olympic athlete Jana Rawlinson (formerly Pittman) is known for her performance in sport & Breast Implants.
But being a great hurdling talent and undergoing knee surgery and competing at the Olympics a week later are well up there.
“[Before] when I looked in the mirror I just saw muscled arms, broad shoulders and big, strong legs,” she said.
“These are assets I need to run well, but they didn’t make me feel like an attractive woman.”
But when the two-time 400m hurdles world champion realised her performance on the track was being affected by the implants, she opted to return to her former figure.
Rawlinson spent $3000 on the surgery to remove the implants, which took place in September last year.
“Yep, I’m back to being flat as a pancake,” Rawlinson tells Woman’s Day magazine, out today.
In a surprisingly candid interview, the 27-year-old runner said she had the implants taken out as she felt they were affecting her performance on the track.
“Every time I raced I panicked about whether I was letting my country down, all for my own vanity,” she said.
“I absolutely loved having bigger boobs, but I don’t want to short-change Australia either. I want to feel the most athletic I can, to know that I’m standing on the track in London (2012 Olympics) the fittest I can be.”
Rawlinson has not ruled out going back under the knife and having the fake breasts re-implanted.
