Today (04 Jan) is the birthday of the great scientist Sir Isaac Newton (4 January 1643 – 31 March 1727). Google’s birthday wishes to him through beautiful “apple doodle” with a “dropping apple” animation on loading home page.

We all know the famous story of Issac Newton theory of gravity. Issac Newton was sitting under an apple tree when an apple fell on his head.

He is famous for his discovery of gravitation concept & giving out three laws of motion. He was also the first one to design the 1st practical reflecting telescope.

Newton continued his research on colors & lights & in the end concluded that the prism decomposes white light & then spilt it into numerous colors, which form the spectrum.

The theorem of generalised binomial was also given by him & is well-known as “Newton’s method” to approximate zeroes of the function & dealing with the study of power series.

His 1687 publication of the Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica (usually called the Principia) is considered to be among the most influential books in the history of science, laying the groundwork for most of classical mechanics.

  1. His discovery of the basic laws of gravity was wonderful for giving us the ability to explore other planets. However, for owners of the most popular U.S. pet, Sir Isaac Newton will be forever praised as the inventor of the cat flap. Without the cat flap, we would be doormen rather than room mates.
