Haldiram’s Owner Prabhu Shankar Agarwal Held Guilty For Murder

A sessions court in Kolkata on Wednesday held the owner of Haldiram’s and four others guilty of conspiring in the murder of a tea stall owner in the Burrabazar area of central Kolkata in 2005.

According to reports, The court will pronounce punishments for Prabhu Shankar Agarwal and the four others on Friday.

Prabhu Shankar Agarwal, who was present in the court, was taken into police custody and lodged in Alipore Central jail in Kolkata.

According to reports, Prabhu Shankar Agarwal and four others, held guilty of shooting a youth in the Burrabazara Kolkata, would be sentenced on Friday by a fast track court.

Prabhu Shankar Agarwal was hired a contract killer Gopal Tiwari in 2005 to dispose of the tea stall owner who had refused to remove the stall which was blocking the entrance of a large confectionary shop the businessman was about to open in the Burrabazar area of central Kolkata.

Gopal Tiwari was arrested May 22, 2005 the same year from Hyderabad by sleuths of the Kolkata Police.

Based on information provided by Gopal Tiwari, Prabhu Shankar Agarwal was arrested from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi Jun 7, 2005 on his return from Britain, where he had gone to open a branch of his confectionery chain.
