Dr. Rahul Singh Deshwal Rapes an MBBS Student in Mumbai

Mumbai Police have arrested an orthopedic doctor (Dr. Rahul Singh Deshwal) on Tuesday for the alleged rape of an MBBS student.
After prelude investigations, the police believe that the 30-year-old might be habitual crook.
Dr. Rahul Singh Deshwal had supposedly raped the victim many times, and had even promised to marry her in exchange for her silence.
But when he was finally arrested on her complaint, the police recovered nude photos of at least nine other girls from his laptop.
These photos, along with the accused’s computer, are now being used by the investigating officers to build “a water-tight case” against him.
“Deshwal’s laptop has been sent to the cyber crime cell for investigations,” said Senior Police Inspector Sanjeev Kokil of MRA Marg police station.
“We are now trying to establish the identity of the other girls whose photographs have been found.”
As per the FIR registered, the victim was first raped by the doctor almost eight months ago.
He had invited her over to his quarters – after which he spiked her drinks, and then raped and photographed her while she was unconscious.
When the girl discovered his actions on regaining consciousness, Deshwal quickly promised to marry her.
“The victim belongs to a poor family. She got carried away with the accused’s promises and they soon began seeing each other.
But eight months into their relationship, the victim learnt of the doctor’s plans of getting married to another girl. And this is when she registered a complaint with us,” an investigating officer disclosed.
The girl in her complaint also stated that the accused had beaten her on several occasions.
He justified his actions to her by saying that men from his community often beat up women to keep them in control.
Deshwal, who hails from Haryana, is a final-year post-graduate student at St George Hospital, which comes under the Sir JJ Group of Hospitals.
When contacted, Dr SM Inamdar, Dean of JJ Hospital said, “We have terminated Deshwal’s six-month residency post.
And the victim has since shifted to her family. We have not received any complaint from the girl herself, but are doing our best to aid in investigations.”
