Delhi – Gurgaon Metro: Qutub & Hooda City Centre, Jahangirpuri, IFFCO Chowk, M G Road, Sikandarpur, Guru Dronacharya, Arjangarh, Ghitorni and Sultanpur

Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy and Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda flagged off the Delhi Metro trial run from Gurgaon Friday afternoon amid much fanfare and applause.

The route will be partially operational by May this year.

Delhi Metro expects to inaugurate services between Qutub and Hooda City Centre IFFCO Chowk, M G Road, Sikandarpur, Guru Dronacharya, Arjangarh, Ghitorni and Sultanpur by the first half of May and extend it to Jahangirpuri by June.

A big attraction of the Gurgaon section of the Metro will be the HUDA City Centre station eco-friendly & will have a shopping mall.

“After flagging off the service at HUDA City Centre, few dignitaries, including the Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy, would travel a distance of about 7 kms on the Metro,” said Rajender Kataria, Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner.

According to DMRC plans, the line will be inaugurated by April and this corridor of the Delhi Metro is expected to draw thousands of more people.
