A man dressed up as Santa Claus but this Santa was no saint, went into a Suntrust Bank in Nashville and and demanded money from the teller at gunpoint.
The thief, described as a white male between 6 feet and 6 feet 4 inches tall, was wearing a Santa Claus suit – including hat, beard and mustache – and dark sunglasses and armed with a 9-millimeter handgun, said police.
“He went to the front of the teller line and started asking for money and putting it in his bag after took the money and drove away in his sleigh, which apparently could be a Nissan Altima.
“It was a little unbelievable. He was actually jovial, which is creepy. He explained that he was robbing the bank because Santa had to pay his elves,” said witness Richlyn Jones.
Customer Jimmy Edwards added: “He had the whole outfit on – even the shoes. I laid down as soon as he walked in and pulled that gun out.
No one was hurt during the Nashville Santa bank robbery. The FBI Task Force and Metro police are investigating the case.
